About Marty Beamer
Marty Beamer is a pastor, theologian, teacher, and writer serving as the Preaching Pastor of Bethel Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri.
He holds a B.S. from Spurgeon College, a Master of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Philosophy from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
His doctoral work focused on Christian prudence and public ethics. His dissertation is titled:
Prudentia for the Protestants: Reclaiming Aquinas’s Prudence in Protestant Public Ethics
Marty’s ministry experience includes pastoral ministry, Christian education, theological instruction, spiritual formation, and church revitalization.
Before coming to Bethel, Marty served in pastoral ministry at Faith Community Church and worked in teaching and leadership at Faith Christian Academy.
In 2021, Marty became pastor of Bethel Baptist Church during a significant season of revitalization.
At Bethel, he serves alongside a plurality of elders in a congregation committed to expositional preaching, meaningful church membership, biblical church leadership, discipleship, missions, and Joyful Gospel Advancement.
Marty believes theological study should ultimately serve Christ’s church and help Christians live faithfully in the places God has called them.
